A time not so distant, yet not too old,
When as a boy, I chanced to see,
A peacock's splendor, bound, not free.
In a cage, so tall and wide,
His freedom gone, no place to hide,
I questioned him with a curious heart,
"Why, oh bird, do you strut and unfurl,
Your glorious colors and majestic twirl,
When no mate or companion is close at heart?”
The peacock replied with whispers light,
Of love's connection, pure and bright,
Of oneness, deep and true,
Binding hearts like morning dew.
Love's essence, a joy to share,
In silent whispers, a bond so rare.
Within the heart, a temple lies,
Prayer to the one, our souls' ties,
Forever she will be my guide,
In her arms, my soul does confide.
With the wind she brings me her kisses,
With the sun her caresses.
With the rain she quenches my thirst,
And at night she bathes me in the moonlight.
In the stars her song to me,
And in the morning my melody replies to her.
From a distance, love's light still gleams,
A guide in the darkness, and a light that beams.
Like windswept kisses, soft and kind,
Love's gentle touch, the soul will find.
In dreams, I'll hold her, close and dear,
No end in sight, no need for fear.
For in those dreams, where hearts ascend,
Our love finds solace, and can never end.
Now I recall the peacock's words so wise,
The dance that spoke of love's sweet ties.
In whispered echoes, love's eternal spark, has left its sweet eternal mark.
